It premiered on Cartoon Network on January 4, 1999. The series was designed to resemble classic cartoons from the 1940s to the 1970s, and revolves around three adolescent boys, Ed, Edd “Double D”, and Eddy, collectively known as “the Eds”, who live in a suburban cul-de-sac. Unofficially led by Eddy, the Eds constantly invent schemes to make money from their peers to purchase their favorite confectionery, jawbreakers.

Their plans usually fail though, leaving them in various predicaments. Adult cartoonist Antonucci was dared to create a children’s cartoon; while designing a commercial, he conceived Ed, Edd n Eddy, and approached Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon with the series, but both channels demanded creative control, to which Antonucci did not agree.
A deal was ultimately made for Cartoon Network to commission Ed, Edd n Eddy, after they agreed to let Antonucci have control of the show. During the show’s run, several specials and shorts were produced in addition to the regular television series.
Two books, as well as several comic books and video games, either based on the series or featuring the series’ characters have also been produced. Just when people started to get excited at the prospect of being back on our screens we go and shatter it all because the creator said it will 'never happen' which probably means it's a no. Blame him, not us. We don't care how adult and mature you are, curiosity would have made you watch it, even if it was just for one minute (it wouldn't be one minute but your secret would be safe). Fans of the Cartoon Network animated series which ran from 1999 (yes 1999) to 2009 will be Disappointed (with a capital D) to hear that the programme won't be making a comeback - not ever. It doesn't even leave anyone with the pleasure of hope., the news comes after a fan under a parody account managed to catch the attention of Erin Fitzgerald, who voiced 'May Kanker' and 'Nazz Van Bartonschmeer' for the majority of the series.
The fan asked whether or not the actress would return for an Ed, Edd n Eddy comeback, this in-turn led Fitzgerald to say that she would (yas queen). But then she added that the show's creator, Danny Antonucci, said it would never happen.
Replying to the fan on Twitter, Fitzgerald said: 'I would but Danny has told me on MANY occasions, it will never happen. Trust me, i ask him a LOT.' The fan then quizzed why the series ended in the first place and Fitzgerald's answer was the nail in the make-believe coffin. She said: 'Danny was done. CN Cartoon Network said another season or a feature if he wanted, he chose to end with the Feature a complete work of art.' If you're not a fan and don't want to waste time watching the series it revolves around three pre-teen LADs named Ed, Edd and Eddy (obviously) who live in a suburban cul-de-sac in the fictional town of 'Peach Creek'.
Under the unofficial leadership of Eddy, the trio frequently invent schemes to make money from their peers to purchase their favourite confectionery, jawbreakers. They're on our level really. The show attracted an audience of 31 million households, was broadcast in 120 countries, and proved to be popular with children, teenagers, and adults. And with a 10-year run, Ed, Edd n Eddy was the longest-running Cartoon Network original series at the time of its end. Well done guys and thanks for ruining our hopes of a comeback.
